This Rules and Regulations apply to all Contestants and Voters of iTALENTSTAR (hereafter referred to as the "iTALENTSTAR") which will be launched in December 2007 and will end March 2008, or such date as determined by the organizers (hereafter referred to as the "Contest Period"). 

By participating in iTALENTSTAR and/or by submitting an entry or vote, all Contestants and Voters agree to the following Terms and Conditions. The Terms and Conditions stated below shall apply to all stages of iTALENTSTAR. 

About iTALENTSTAR 

iTALENTSTAR is an interactive online talent competition seeking to uncover hidden talents behind the web from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. 

Friendster, the leading social network web portal, is the exclusive online partner of iTALENTSTAR. Global One Media is the Organizer of iTALENTSTAR and the “Executive Producer” of the concept mechanics including the development and maintenance of the website (www.italentstar.com). Interactive Hub Pte Ltd operates as the exclusive sales representative for iTALENTSTAR.

A. Who can participate 

All online users can participate in iTALENTSTAR either as (a) Contestants or (b) Voters. 

Contestants
All contestants must live in either Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia or the Philippines. Also, all Contestants must first register as a Friendster member, if not already one and meet the minimum criteria of 16 years of age.

All Contestants must fill up the registration form in www.italentstar.com and submit:
a. 60 seconds Video-clips displaying why they should be selected as a contestant. 
b. 1 most recent Photograph
c. a rally message on why they should be selected (up to 30 characters)



Voters
Voters can come from any country with no age restriction. They must fill up the registration form in order to be eligible to vote. In addition, voters need not be Friendster members, but are strongly encouraged to be one (minimum 16 years of age) in order to view the contestants’ profile and challenges in Friendster.

Upon registration, all voters will have a voting profile in iTALENTSTAR displaying the voting credits and history. Voters can only cast 1 online vote to each contestant per day. However, for every friend that the voters refer to join iTALENTSTAR, one additional vote for every valid email activation will be credited in the voting profile. 

SMS voting may be offered as another alternative on top of the online voting.

Voting results once announced are final. The decision of Organizer is final and binding and no correspondences, disputes or appeal shall be entertained.



All employees of the Organizer, Partners and Sponsors of iTALENTSTAR, including its parent, affiliated and subsidiary companies, distributors, retailers, licensors, advertising and promotional agencies and the immediate family members are not eligible to participate in iTALENTSTAR.

B. Contest Mechanics

(1) A total of 80 Contestants from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines (that is 10 males and 10 females’ contestants per country) will be short listed from the pool of registrations. 

(2) All contestants will compete in four generic challenges to become winners in each category. The contestants who survive the four challenges pit their skills in the Country Challenge and thereafter the Regional Challenge. 

(3) Each challenge requires the contestants to submit (a) video-clips of specific duration, (b) photographs and (c) blog pertaining to their preparation of the challenge. All contestants are required to feature specific products into these submissions; as stipulated by the iTALENTSTAR Rules and Regulations.

(4) All contestants must display the required products in a natural and tasteful manner that do not directly or indirectly shed negative lights on those products. 

(5) Contestants will be evaluated by a panel of judges consisted of both public and industry professionals. Judges will be selected by Organizer at its sole discretion and will be regulated by this Rules and Regulations. Feedbacks of judges are personal comments made to guide Contestants only. Comments are not to be taken personally.

(6) Short listed contestants acknowledge and agree that contest mechanics may render them as future spokespersons of Friendster for a specified period of time. Contestants also agree that such endorsements will be made willingly. 

(7) Contestant’s performance in iTALENTSTAR do not render them any wages, salary or other compensation. 

C. Prizes & Notification

(1) Winners will be notified via email and results posted in iTALENTSTAR website at the discretion of Organizer. All winners stand to win sponsors’ products and services. 

(2) Organizer shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss in the delivery/collection of the prizes to the Winners.

(3) Contestants shall not transfer, exchange or redeem any prizes for cash, trips and accommodations, and such prizes can only be used at such times as specified by Organizer. 

(4) Any prizes not accepted or collected shall be donated to charitable organizations; as deemed fit by the Organizer. 

D. General Conditions

Accurate information. The Organizer reserves the right to verify the accuracy of any information submitted by contestants and voters of iTALENTSTAR. Any false, inaccurate, obscene or misleading information shall deem the contestants and voters to be disqualified from further participation in iTALENTSTAR. 

Video Submissions. Via third party video hosting sites like “YouTube”, “4Singapura”, etc. 
Contestant’s video-clips submissions can be hosted by/submitted to third party complimentary sites (choice of site at the discretion of contestants). Organizer is thus not liable for unauthorized reuse of these submitted videos by such third-party sites. Organizer governs only collaterals in the environment and context of the official iTALENTSTAR website. 

Talent Management. The Challenge Category Winners, Country Champions and Regional iTALENTSTAR Winners (collective “the Winners”) may be required to sign a talent management agreement with the Organizer for any commercial endorsements or projects in the future. In the event that the Sponsors were to contact the Winners directly, the Winners are advised to refer the Sponsors to the Organizer. The details of the talent management agreement shall be provided by the Organizer at a later date 

Use of Information. The Organizer reserves the right to retain and use all data/information submitted by the Contestants who participate in iTALENTSTAR; for the purposes of sales, marketing, promotional efforts, and any other Organizer-related activities for similar purposes. Upon request by the Organizer, the Contestants are required to provide all requested information promptly and accurately. 

Intellectual Property. The use of creative properties and/or aesthetics such as music and logos related to iTALENTSTAR must be in adherence to copyrights and intellectual property laws befitting of the country of residence and/or law governance. Unauthorized use of such crops may render the Contestants’ submissions null and void.

Rules and Regulations. The Organizer reserves the right to amend, withdraw or revise these Rules and Regulations including the prizes at any time without notice and in such event, the Organizer shall not bear any liability whatsoever. Persons who do not comply with these Terms & Conditions may be disqualified at the Organizer’s absolute discretion. 
In the event of any dispute concerning the operation of any element of iTALENTSTAR or the Rules and Regulations, the decision of the Organizer is final
Communications. The Contestants shall make themselves contactable during the period of iTALENSTAR to facilitate ease of communication between the Organizer and themselves. The communication modes via the (1) Contestants’ message box in the iTALENTSTAR website and (2) their personal handphone. 

Limitation of liability. The Organizer shall not be responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, resulting in time lapses and inconvenience to the Contestants and Voters experience in iTALENTSTAR. This is not limited to any loss or damage to users or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in iTALENTSTAR. 

Governing Law This Rules and Regulations will be governed and construed according to the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Contest, shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Singapore in accordance with the international Arbitration Rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre ("SIAC Rules"). The language of the arbitration shall be English.
